CHERI FreeRTOS Working Group

The CHERI Alliance organises its efforts through domain‑specific working groups to facilitate the adoption of capability‑based security across the computing ecosystem【836580014068630†L152-L156】【836580014068630†L162-L250】. The CHERI FreeRTOS working group brings together engineers and researchers who are porting the FreeRTOS real‑time operating system to CHERI hardware. Its objectives include identifying the minimal changes required to make FreeRTOS memory safe, developing libraries and toolchains to support capability enforcement on microcontroller-class devices and sharing best practices with the wider community.

Membership in this group is open to anyone interested in CHERI and FreeRTOS. Participants collaborate via mailing lists and regular meetings to coordinate development and test on CHERI-enabled boards.
